I'm curious what the actual victory conditions are for Sins.  I've had it declare victory over human opponents that had a very real chance of making a comeback, against AI that still had several planets, and had it NOT declare victory for an irritatingly long time against a player that I'd pushed off of every colonizable planet.

I would love to have the option to set different victory conditions - a la supreme commander - so that I had more control over my matches.

There has been rumors about new different victory conditions and such in the new expansion pack, but we'll have to wait and see if that's true.

the 'victory conditions'? There aren't any as it stands right now. What happens is that the AI/Human Opponenet 'Surrenders'.

There are two ways you can achieve victory: your opponents no longer control any planets, or your opponents surrender.  There's always the possibility that an opponent controls a planet you don't know about (or haven't scouted recently), but otherwise this is straightforward and logical.  Surrender is a bit erratic, particularly for the AI.
